Of the seven volumes two are part of a gradual of the fifteenth-century Roman-Franciscan rite, four make up a complete gradual compiled according to the St. Mark's rite. These carry the date 1565-1570 and the signature of don Vittorino Ventura, canon of San Salvador, to which a kyriale is added.
There are illuminations of rare quality both in the fifteenth-century volumes and in the complete, sixteenth-century gradual. The latter has erasures and rewriting in the text and in places also in the music, probably made between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
